Communication for Health Advancement through Networking and Governance Enhancement (CHANGE) is a five ‐year USAID/Philippines project that zeroes in on the need for strategic and sustainable communication interventions that will “sell” healthy behaviors; generate increased demand for FP, MNCH, and TB products, methods, and services in the country; and ultimately, contribute to the reduction of maternal and child deaths, and TB prevalence.
Establishing the Communications for Communicators School (C4C) is one of the major capability building strategies of CHANGE. The ultimate goal of the C4C is to raise the standard of communication skills –from merely messengers to strategic communicators and thinkers – among the health promoters thus becoming effective change agents on health in the country. Together with the Johns Hopkins University – Center for Communication Programs (JHU-CCP) and the DOH, the C4C aims to provide the communication “scholars” three (3) competencies namely ability to think strategically in communication, resource mobilization for local communication activities and transformative leadership.
